Drug Testing
Question-Should students involved in extracurricular activities be tested for drugs?
I strongly do not think that students involved in extra curricular activities should be tested for drugs. I feel that it is a waste of our tax dollars to conduct drug tests. Students that are doing drugs probably would not be involved in any activities anyway, especiall students that play sports . Athletes are very conscious of their health, and probably have dreams of playing for a professional team. I highly doubt that they would ruin their futures by using drugs. Also, it should be the parents responsibility to notice a change in their child’s behavior. If a parent finds their child is doing drugs, they should intervene, not the school. I think that school is a place to learn, and health classes already teach children not to do drugs. I think the school already sets the tone about drugs, and it should be the parents job to enforce what the school has already done. What are your thoughts on drug testing?

I agree with you 100%. I really think you said it all in this post. I defiantly think that students in extra cirricular activities should NOT be tested for drugs. Atheletes of course wouldn’t do drugs in the first place. And I really think the parents should be involved more with drug use instead of schools. And it’s really a big waste of time, and money. this is a really good post.

i think that athletes should be tested 4 drugs becuz even tho they may be conscious about their health it is deffinitely easy to go the other way and get sucked into peer pressure. The tests i think are a waste of money but what if athletes are really doing drugs and they dont show symptoms? Oh well you never know what’s going to happen. U have good reasons though
